Welcome to the Diploma Plus Secondary Academy

The Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township recognizes that not all young people learn in the same manner or have the same basic coping skills needed to succeed in school and beyond. Lawrence Township believes in the need for educational options for all of its students.

In keeping with the mission of the township “to empower all students”, the district has made a commitment to alternative learning by teaming up with Mindtrust, the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, the Common Goal, and the Common Wealth Corporation in establishing the MSDLT Diploma Plus Secondary Academy for those students who may have been previously unsuccessful in a traditional school setting or who simply may need more specialized and individualized attention.

The Diploma Plus Secondary Academy is an educational option for students in grades 9-12, and is one of two school districts in the city of Indianapolis to implement the Diploma Plus model.
